Phuket, Thailand

I went to breakfast and got so awed by the sunrise. Don't you think it's such an amazing sight? Rushed through my breakfast then went around finding just the perfect spot to catch the rising sun.

Was such a nice morning. I think the ship had docked in the night before. Already droves of people were waiting for us to disembark. Tents were already up with vendors displaying their wares.

Went to the auditorium to find our tour-group. It was already 3/4 full. So we weren't the only ones who can't wait to get off the ship. It was so slow trying to get off though. more people seeme to be leaving the ship today as compared to yesterday, so there was a gridlock at the staircase towards the exit. Was such a relief to be out in the sunshine after being stcuk among so many people for so long.

Then we got stuck in the bus. Apparently there were some missing members to our tour-group.
The tour itself was pretty boring. So uninspired to get anything. Lunch was nice though. I asked one of the waiter whether there was any pork in any of the dishes. He looked so so surprise to have me speaking to him in Thai! Then broke into a smile and said that all the food are halal, since he was a Muslim himself. Was such a relief that we could eat anything. Food wasn't too bad, at all.

We were brought to Patong Beach after lunch. We should have just gone straight here since morning. There had loads of stalls. Kinda reminded me of Chiangmai Night Market except it was day and the stalls are house in one-story buildings instead of tents. The beach itself was so so crowded, though. Can't understand why people would wanna hang out here!

Bought boxing gloves at the second stall we went to after finding the first stall selling it at a way too exorbitant price. Thought might as well since the price was ok and I only had one more hour to walk around before we had to get back to the bus. NS was pretty excited, but unsure of what to get. I felt so jaded in contrast. :)

We wanted to get some scarves from a lady at the roadside, but she told us to wait while she finished us transacting with an AngMoh lady. Found out afters that she was fleecing the lady! LOL! She offered us a much much lower price. And a lower one still when I could converse with her and she said that she was a Muslim too. I rather enjoy this sense of camaradie for shared language and religions. :) Remembered how when we were in Chiangmai the vendors offered different prices for the same wares for Asians and Caucasians! That should teach SPGs something!

NS couldn't find the silverware she wanted for her Mum, so had to rush all the way to the other end of Patong beach where we had seen it. Then rushed again to catch the bus, although we so wanted to grab a drink. We weren't the last to reach, though. But one poor lady was in such a hurry to rush to the bus that she fell down!

Found that we still have some time to spare before we were due back in the ship, so went around the stalls at the dock when the bus dropped us off. First stop: A DRINK! so badly needed one. weather was so so hot. The stuff at the stalls were pretty intersting, but NS has gone broke, I thinks. On my side I got the boxing glose IL had asked for. There wasn't anything else that I was looking for, or was tempted with. So sad. I need to go to some other country next time around!
